Trail Update
Beginning on Monday, 6/30, the Trail Crew will be replacing a bridge on the Chimney Pond Trail. Hikers will need to follow a short, well-flagged route around the project site until further notice.

Starting Friday, June 6th, the Tote Road will be open through the Park. Be advised of soft shoulders and the need to use caution while driving on the Tote Road. All Traveler Mountain trails and all Katahdin trails, except the Saddle Slide trail will be open starting June 6th.
Tote Road: open from Togue Pond Gatehouse to the Macmanus Brook gate, just north of Nesowadnehunk Field, and from Matagamon Gate open to Trout Brook Crossing (just past South Branch Pond Road). Roaring Brook and all other roads are open. CAUTION: road shoulders may still be soft in many areas.
The Park’s headquarters building in Millinocket, including the reservations office, will be closed to the public from April 28th to May 9th for training events. Reservations may still be made online and by phone during these two weeks.
In observance of Patriot’s Day, the Reservations Line and the BSP Headquarters in Millinocket will be closed on Monday, April 21st.
Due to incoming winter weather conditions, the BSP Headquarters and Reservations Line will be closing at 1 p.m. today, 4/08/25.
Starting this spring, the foot bridge spanning Trout Brook at the Trout Brook Farm Campground will be closed. The bridge’s infrastructure is no longer safe for use, and there are no immediate plans to replace it. BSP’s annual Earth Day Litter Patrol on the state road from Millinocket to the Togue Pond Gate is Saturday, April 26, starting at 9:00 a.m. at Headquarters.
