Beginning October 15th, the Reservations Line & Park Headquarters in Millinocket will be open Mondays-Fridays from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.; they will be closed on weekends.

Necessary maintenance will take place on the Trout Brook Crossing Bridge 10/21-10/24. This portion of the Tote Road will be impassable during that time. Those wishing to access the SFMA or Camp Phoenix should enter through the Togue Pond Gate in the south.
The Baxter State Park Headquarters in Millinocket will be closed on Wednesday, 10/16. The Reservations phone line will remain open..
Due to recent bear activity, visitors are advised to be mindful of storing all food, trash, and scented items inside their locked vehicles with the windows rolled up. Coolers and covered truck beds are not bear proof.
In observance of Labor Day, the BSP Administrative Office will be closed on September 2, 2024. The reservation office at Headquarters will be open from 8 am to 4 pm.
Due to a server issue, our reservations office is currently experiencing technical difficulties. You may experience issues making reservations online or by phone. Please be patient while the issue is resolved. Reservation Staff is unable to make reservations by phone at this time. Please check back for updates.

Hikers entering the park along the Appalachian Trail should be aware that the boardwalk and bridge structure crossing the Grassy Pond Outlet, approximately 0.5 mile south of Katahdin Stream Campground, has been damaged during recent flooding events.
